I quite like it. To me, his paintings have this childlike whimsy quality. And the places he paints remind me of villages in eastern europe, like the one my great aunt lived in at the border of Ukraine and Belarus. It's like a nostalgia for a time and place I've never been to.
That’s interesting. This is what I am talking about when I say that I know that I am missing something. I know that there is more there, at least for some people. Achieving genuine resonance is probably one of the most interesting aspects of art. But as for “childlike whimsy”, did you see that girl in the bottom left?
