Sgt. Joe Goode flew 36 combat missions aboard a B-17 in World War II with the US Army Air Force, 35 inside Germany-- including one to Berlin. He survived a flak induced crash and was back over Germany a week later. I wrote up a little on Sgt. Goode's record, the missions and found photos of some of the actual planes he flew.
On June 30, 2019 (Sunday), Sgt. Goode is turning 100 and he is asking that people send him birthday cards. My article includes all details at the top with an option to sign a free online birthday card. These men risked their lives for us and accomplished much. They will be remembered for their deeds but they won't be around too much longer and there are swiftly dwindling opportunities to thank them personally. Please take a moment and send him a card or sign the online version.
I have spoken with Sgt. Goode's caretaker and he is still mentally sharp, this means a lot to him.
