We've gone so far, we are coming around the other side again. The whole point of the Republican party for the past 100 years has been "to each his own, without government intervention." Their complaint about the Democrats was that the D's always wanted the government to solve people's problems for them. Ronald Reagan quipped, "The scariest words are, I'm from the government; I'm here to help." Now it's the Republicans that want to legislate everyone's behavior, and the Democrats are like, "Geez dude... chill out... why can't we all just get along, and be whoever we want to be, man?"
