What an enjoyable read. I was never a Slashdot user but it sure has one hell of a good reputation. Especially when people recall the earlier years. It's so important that people create things for the right reasons. It sounds like Rob was creating a place that first and foremost he and his friends (users) would enjoy using. When the motivation is to create the best thing or place that you can as opposed to the most profitable, good things (often special things) happen. Malda seems like a really good dude. WaPo is lucky to have him. Any idea what it is they're working on over there? And I’ll never forgot the palm sweating nervousness waiting for a reply when I proposed to my girlfriend on the front page of Slashdot. All of it shared with friends.
-How cool is that??
