Hahahaha, a pair of congressional aids accidently leaked on the lawfare podcast a month or more ago that Congress wasn't going to renew this shit.

Half a dozen national security reporters I follow were all like "did ya catch that? Did they mean to leak that shit on a podcast?".

NSA's trying to save face, which is odd for an agency that generally just keeps it's yap shut.

That's actually kind of hilarious. Especially considering everyone who had read or even heard of James Bamford knew exactly how nefarious the NSA tends to be but as soon as Snowden popped everyone was all "who is this 'NSA' and how can they listen to my phone calls?"

PRISM is pretty much the only thing anybody knows them for. I'd prolly try to save face too.
