A small part.

I think part of not encouraging citation is paper costs money and the publisher has none. Write some shit that looks provocative and we'll shit it out for you as a book.

I think "post truth" is tearing down the gatekeepers. Then finding out they were holding back a horde of barbarians intent on sacking civilization. Not literally. Just preventing 50 Shades of Grey from being a thing and a poorly Xeroxed newsletter called Info Wars from having any readers at all. There you go cultural libertarians with your optimism about equal dissemination of information. Those are two examples of your success.
