If you're into (East Asian?) Post Rock check out the whole gig - Including the amazing support band Jambinai who use traditional Korean instruments.
Some of it's pretty good. In the end I don't think I'd listen to it more than a one or two times. Reminds me of Explosions in the Sky (I think that's the name of the band). Reasonably good music but for some reason it doesn't have legs for me, maybe not enough hooks to stick. I find Japanese music frustrating. I like any number of bands but digging any deeper than the handful of stuff I know is hard. I end up looking up band members and seeing what other bands they were in. I guess I should start trolling english speaking blogs about Japanese music until I find the guy who shares my sense of taste.
Yeah, who ever knows?! I like to just let it all infuse slowly, like osmosis. Some bands that's so natural - like Mono and Explosions in The Sky. Others just don't work for some reason, even the same genre or style. I can't get deep into 65daysofstatic or Caspian or Godspeed You Black Emperor at all. I like it well enough, it just doesn't... take over. For some reason Mono just do it for me. Weird. maybe not enough hooks to stick.
I mean ending with Recoil Ignite, Requiem for Hell, then Everlasting Light. Bliss to me.
