When I think about the media I pay for, it encompasses a lot: cable, Hulu, Netflix, Spotify, NYT, WaPo, New Yorker, donate to NPR, go to and rent movies, probably others I'm forgetting. Each of these things has in common the essential element that they're delivering to me professional quality content. Get the fuck outta here if anyone thinks I'm going to pay to see a recap in photos of the family dinner I attended last week, or an update about the size fish some asshole I didn't like in high school caught on his big trip this summer. FB knows this. They're never in a million years going to make anyone pay to see shit content. People won't even pay for newspapers anymore. Also, on a side note, I don't think I've ever tried to list the amount of media I pay for. It's kind of a lot. Guess I figured out where all my money is going :(
