I personally do not because I like to see how things fit me. I really like to see how an outfit looks in a mirror before I buy it. Also as a short male, not all clothes are created equally. Sometimes I'll try on a small shirt and the top will be fine but the entire shirt will just go down to near my knees. For those that do shop for clothes regularly online, what got you to make the decision?
I finally found that Duluth Trading Company has consistently-sized clothing, because they make most of it themselves. After one shipment where I ordered three different sizes, found the one that fit me, and returned the others, it's a no-brainer to order from them now. I know my size, and their clothing is consistent. Almost every other retailer simply buys clothes from a variety of bulk manufacturers, and slap their label on it. So sizes are all over the board, since every mfg has their own idea of sizes. So yeah. I buy from Duluth and Zappos, because I know the sizing is good. And when it isn't, it is dead-easy to return the stuff.
Do you get clothes from events or working every year? I'm not sure if I could go five to ten years without at least getting something to switch things up from time to time.
The only reason I shop online is because I live so far away from real stores. Banff has some options but being 45 minutes away I don’t go very often and they don’t have too many options for me. Any mall with a diverse number of stores is two hours away. Having said that, I’ll switch back to shopping at stores in a heartbeat once I move back home. I haven’t found a single store yet where I can buy 2 things in the exact same size and actually like how they both fit. It’s a gamble every time but I prefer it over driving around Calgary because their road system is atrocious.
i do because it's much less intimidating than walking into a store and buying overtly feminine clothes plus it seems to be cheaper to get the cheap chinese shit directly from china
A lot more than I used to. Free time is very valuable to me and I can’t afford to waste 2-3 hrs at the mall. I can get great t shirts from uniqlo and they are cheap and better then mall stuff. I have a style and fit for Levi’s jeans they always work I buy more from amazon as soon as I detect holes. Good underwear and socks seem to have gone online only. Store stuff is overpriced and often poor quality. For high end clothes I can’t really buy good stuff at stores so once again I’m stuck buying online, these are prone to more returns or I just buy used on eBay and resell/take the risk. Been buying occasional tech wear like pants coats etc from expensive brands for 1/2 to 1/3 of retail. Wife does the same. Shoes online are half price, I’ve identified some brands that fit most of the time and buy those. I bought boots from sierra trading for also 1/2 price, hard to justify $300 red wings but 175 for seconds ain’t bad.
Rarely for the same reason you mentioned. I also enjoy bargain hunting so I hit up a bunch of discount stores, thrift stores, consignment shops, clearance racks. I seriously desire immediate gratification. I'll buy weird hard to find shirts online. And I know my shoe size in the brand I like. This has recently only expressed itself as sending my mom and Amazon wishlist for Christmas and my birthday
I do like to do bargain shopping as well. A good number of times I can find a once sixty dollar nice shirt at Marshalls for like twenty bucks.
Frequently. At least, within a season. Size guides for outdoor clothing are generally accurate, including the run small/run large meters. For non-technical clothing I will shop online for brands I know fit me well, such as Uniqlo. I buy a fair amount of my technical clothing online because the stores don't always carry the brand or type of clothing I'm looking for. Otherwise, it's because it will save me a trip which could be out of the way.
