Currently sitting in Cumol's room. About to call it a night after some solid conversation about German music, amongst other things. More to come in the morning (plus a Berlin trip report if I get around to it)!

Edit 1: Cumol claims to snore but he's been asleep for an hour with no sign of disturbances. My insomnia continues in spite of the silence.
It was really fun time with galen! We went for a walk up the "Philosophenweg" (philosopher's road) to have a look at Heidelberg on that rainy day. Luckily we caught some sun :) Later we got us some beers, went up the other mountain to the castle and then for dinner with two of my room mates
10/10 would recommend spending the night & following day with a random stranger from the internet in a foreign city :) Seriously though, we had a lot of fun. And Cumol and his roommates were all very patient as I practiced my German, which was nice. We're already planning to meet up again at some point!
Hubski: where everyone knows your (fake) name.random stranger from the internet in a foreign city
How can you call a random stranger from hubski a "random stranger from the internet"? You are thoroughly vetted on hubski. Even someone with as silly a name as flagamuffin spent a night in my bed. (Given he's from Amerrika, it was foreign.) (Mind you, I went to another neighbourhood, another house, another bed - but even so...)
Another sprinkle of humor from the Universe, then. You know how sometimes, people's names seem not to match their owners? You and Germany seem to fit, in my eyes. Glad you guys are having fun.
If it is not too late, I am an advocate of the music/party scene in Berlin :D A friend of mine manages Birgit and Bier. Not too far off and good music at night!
Mauerpark is home to one of the only legal graffiti walls in Berlin, if you have any interest in watching graffiti artists work. I found it super interesting and met a great guy from Denmark, so I'd recommend a visit. Other than that the Gorki theatre has a studio space where they put on all sorts of experimental theatre & performance art, if you're interested. I was there 4 times and it was always great.
