damn.
Ah, witch hunts; the bread and butter of the internet. I wonder if we'll see more of this as authors become more available to their audience through social media. I know online reviews aren't exactly loved by authors, especially since one-third of them seem to be fake, but it seems like some people need some PR training.
I think that all the internet activism, witch hunts, and vigilante actions (doxxing, etc) come from the same basic desire for justice; to see wrongs righted and such. That wrong can be something like SOPA/PIPA, a bad review for a loved author, or something as simple as acting outside the culture norm of niche groups. I try not to follow a lot of internet drama, but they are kinda like reality tv for the internet. You can try subredditdrama on reddit for a daily stream of internet drama, from petty fights to things that get national media attention.
Quite the saga. This Emily Grifin person and her husband sound awful. Also, just by reading the titles of her books, I'm pretty sure I would despise them. [Edit] I should also add that the blogger that wrote this comes across as rather petty too. If she really does take being a reviewer "seriously", something of a personal nature wouldn't sway her critique of the book. That should be a separate experience. Pretty lame all the way around imo.
