The hostel I stayed in had a wall like that. It was a black chalkboard, with color chalks nearby. Visitors from all around the world would leave their place of origin and good wishes there. It's a shame you have to erase one greeting to put down another — a manifestation of the great tragedy: entropy and the passing of time.
