Some summer music for ya nerves.
Soundcloud if you're feeling sadistic.
When not making people cry with my folk music, I make beats and electronic music. I felt like giving people something to dance to for once, so here's some songs that make me think of summer. I wanted a challenge, so it's all sample free (apart from the drums, which are cleared). I wrote and recorded this over the past month or two, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
This was originally going to be a full 9 track album, but I wanted to keep it concise. Expect those tracks in the future.
flac's track facts:
Track 1: Intro (Lonesome Moonlit Beach)
The female vocals are actually just chopped and screwed from this track from my album.
I went to a lot of beaches at night with friends when I was a teen, only very occasionally for legal reasons. Lots of fond memories of being one of the last two people on the beach, and talking for hours.
Track 2: Summahtune
It's a suuuuumah tuuuuuunee. Wish I had this one done in time for the 4th of July.
I might possibly like early Kanye. Really hard to tell...
Track 3: Keep in Touch
Put this out a few months ago, I've been wanting to build a project around it for forever. I kinda did.
Track 4: Last Chance Shuffle
I think this is my favorite track that I've ever done. Really happy with the production, composition, even my l'il protege's feature on it came together really well. Had a ton of fun recording bass on this track.

Thanks! Every time I put out a major-ish project, I like to do a 180 (or at least a 90) degree turn to some totally different genre - partly to work on my skills, and partly because by the time I finish a project, I am dying to work on anything different than what I've been doing. Probably something punk next...
Maybe that was just my distance from the time I first heard it, or the fact that I heard it with better speakers this time then. I like it! I love Summahtune, though. I can't put my finger on it, and it sounds... familiar. I don't know why yet. Did you have any inspirations for it the chord progression?
Thanks! I've had the chords/melody for that track bouncing around for a month or two, figured this was as good an end for it as any. There's actually a lot more progression to the tune than what's in the final track - I just kind of "sampled" the few bars that repeated the best. I'd be happy to send the charts to you if you'd like ;)
Yes that'd be awesome! I'll pm you my email address
