My interactions with Americans have been overwhelmingly good. London can be quite an asocial city but Americans are always very outgoing which I appreciate a lot and wish we had a bit more of here. Things are improving because London is so cosmopolitan, not everyone has internalised that aspect of the culture. I am glad about this. As for culture, I like that it is not homogeneous. People can get tired of the 'mainstream' pop culture but there is more to it than that.
It astonished me to hear that an English transfer student, about my age, told us that he hangs out with his friends - that is, goes out and spends time with them in a bar or on a walk - at least three times a week. He's from Durham, which isn't London, but I thought I'd let you know that bit about the English culture.London can be quite an asocial city
