I paid Lyft something like $1400 last year. I paid Uber something like $90, $80 of which was the Uber Black I had to get out of LAX at 8am because everything else was jammed and I needed to get to work 15 miles away, $7 of which was another time Lyft was nowhere available, and $3 of which was a tip to a driver who brought me a free meal as part of Uber Eats' rollout. I would have probably paid another $3 for another free Uber Eats meal except that one straight up never showed up. Uber is a piece of shit. Of that $1400 worth of Lyft I paid last year, two drivers were still switch hitting between both companies. The lions' share had quit driving Uber to drive Lyft. About a quarter had never even considered driving Uber because their reputation amongst (knowledgeable) drivers is so shit.
