Pretty much this. I'm thinking I may just break down and get a Pixel XL in the hopes that either LIneageOS or CopperheadOS eventually support it (the latter technically does, but only if you buy the phone through them for $1,000+).
The post has been updated, and the EFF is (at least temporarily) withdrawing the post.UPDATE: We have received additional information from Verizon and based on that information we are withdrawing this post while we investigate further. Here is the statement from Kelly Crummey, Director of Corporate Communications of Verizon: "As we said earlier this week, we are testing AppFlash to make app discovery better for consumers. The test is on a single phone – LG K20 V – and you have to opt-in to use the app. Or, you can easily disable the app. Nobody is required to use it. Verizon is committed to your privacy. Visit www.verizon.com/about/privacy to view our Privacy Policy."
It's almost like they knew this privacy repeal legislation would pass, and they've been building a product for months/years leading up to this...
Holy shit. Well, I was going to upgrade to an S8 when they come out next month, but that ain't happening now. Trying to explore my options.
It hopefully will be eventually. As of right now, Samsung isn't offering an unlocked version of the S8.
As if I needed one more reason to switch. Google fi, here I come. Also, it's not surprising, but check out TechCrunch's obvious whoring.
Do you like the Pixel though? I can't expect my iPhone 5 to last forever, and the Pixel has been the top of my list.
I compare it to the iPhone 3G - far and away the best iPhone, did everything great, and then they released iOS 3 and it turned to garbage. It's entirely possible that 7.1 isn't hot dogshit if you aren't running Fi. On Fi? It's hot dogshit. Granted, that hot dogshit beats the tar out of the Nexus 5X on 7.1, which is diarrhea shit. I'm going back to OnePlus.
What makes you say that? I've been really happy. I've been on Fi for about a year, and I've visited 5 countries and all over the US in that time without issue. It works everywhere, and it's cheap as shit. My biggest problem with Google right now is that you can't buy a Pixel from them to save your life (except for the really big, expensive one), and they don't even let you pay to join a waiting list. Nexus 5x is fine for now though, so no big deal.
this followed by this. They have literally been a dialtone for eight days while telling us that they're "working on" you know, the fact that neither my wife nor I can reliably send or receive texts or calls.
