So I consume a lot of podcasts, and this month a lot of my regular listens have been doing something called #trypod which the goal of is to promote the listening to of podcasts to others who don't partake. Here are three of the best episodes I've listened to this month:

My standard mix The Joe Rogan Experience - Joe Rogan interviews people he finds interesting. Fighters, scientists, youtube/media personalities, complete nutjobs and every mix and variation thereof. Hardcore History [Dan Carlin] - Lengthy, thorough outlines of major events/periods of world history. Maybe 5-6 episodes produced a year, but they are doozies. Common Sense [Dan Carlin] - Carlin's 'Martian Perspective' on US Politics/Current events Stuff You Should Know - Produced by Discovery Networks HowStuffWorks.com, Josh and Chuck talk about a potpourri of topics. A personal favorite since high school. Waking Up - Sam Harris talks at length with guests about religion, atheism, artificial intelligence, neuroscience and myriad related topics. Verbal Violence - Recorded live at the Comedy Store in L.A. , Verbal Violence gives you a front row seat to the Roast Battle where up and coming comedians take turns humiliating and debasing each other on stage. Latest additions are My Brother, My Brother and Me - The McElroy brothers, and sometimes their dad and significant others, take questions from their listeners and give (bad) advice. The Adventure Zone - The McElroy Brothers and their dad play DnD, hilariously.
Wowowowow. Love this idea. I didn't click this link originally because I thought this was going to about camera tripods. Context for my picks: I'm an economics, political science, and politics junkie, with a huge and abiding interest in behavioral economics and otherwise cataloging the ways people are less than perfectly "rational actors." I strive for personal productivity and to improve my writing. I like fandom but not sports per se. I love a good story. I just linked one yesterday, but my three favorite recent podcast episodes are: Ezra Klein interviews one of the most interesting economists I know, Tyler Cowen, on The Ezra Klein Show. Freakonomics interview with Eric Posner, a legal scholar who thinks that true checks and balances on the president don't come from Congress but from things entirely unforeseen by the founders. Radiolab, a very popular podcast, has one spin-off. That is the More Perfect podcast for the layman, centered around the Supreme Court, its cases, and Justices. It's touches a bit on competing doctrines the court has employed, controversial moments, and interesting asides. This was for me the series that I agonized over the most while waiting for new episodes.
We The People from the National Constitution Center is my favorite of my regular podcasts. Most people will probably find it murderously boring, but a few people will love it as much as I do. For those people, do yourself a favor and get on board (Looking at you, blackbootz).
It looks like she's launching a new show for Rewire News call The Breach.
I'll definitely revisit this one. I'm a fan of Jeffrey Rosen (I liked his biography of Brandeis per your suggestion). But I recall being slightly annoyed at some of the live tapings this series featured. It made the conversations more forced and unnatural. I'm not criticizing the participants but found myself distracted by the stress in their voice. Are those live tapings a minority of the series? I'll happily revisit it.
Most of the episodes are Rosen playing moderator to two lawyers who have opposing views of some constitutional issue. My biggest problem with it is that they don't really do sound recording, editing, or mixing very well. I don't know anything about how one should do that, but I know when something consistently sounds like pure shit. Sometimes I think that Rosen just has the record feature of his iPhone turned on, and then puts that directly on air.
I'll give it another go. Any particularly good episodes you recommend?
I am anti-conversational podcasts and have too many to recommend. I'll probably spend all weekend working through this thread. Does anyone just want to look at my lineup and recommend something?
My boyfriend has a business podcast and recently interviewed Pat Flynn, I thought it was a pretty good episode :)
A couple that have been silent for a while but started up again recently. I can't say how happy I am that The Tobolowsy Files has returned - at least for the next 12 weeks. Meet the Composer is also back. I'm just a sucker for music based podcasts.
Nice. I already knew about tiny desk, but alt.Latino looks excellent thanks
I've been trying to be selective as to what I add to my feed as it already contains 50 shows, probably gonna hit 60 by the time this thread is done, lol. Good thing they don't all release episodes all year long, as it is I am about 9 days behind my feed.
