thenewgreen, zebra2, ButterflyEffect, steve, lil, rjw (figure you might like this), can't remember the rest. I also bought myself a flute for $20, but I'm not good enough to warrant recording it yet.
If anyone wants the stems or to add to it, let me know - I can make it downloadable.
Stop being so fucking good at everything. Also, I'm going to be in Portland at the end of the month visiting a friend, you going to be around?
Damn dude. This is all sorts of awesome. Excited to hear more bass from you and eventually some flute. I dig the lyric too. Who hasn't been there?
<3 I cheated, it's actually two basslines layered on top of eachother. Thanks, I'm happy with the mix too - yeah, mastering my own stuff. I do it all with stock plugins in Reaper, my DAW of choice. I'll do a writeup of my process when I get home. A Kramer bass, of the red persuasion. All I remember off the top of my head. Really happy with it, oodles of sustain.
Awesome. I'm also using reaper. I'm totally unfamiliar with any of its mastering capabilities though. I tried submitting some stuff to LANDR to master. It clipped the crap out of the kick in one of the songs though. Looking for a better way.I do it all with stock plugins in Reaper, my DAW of choice.
Sweet! On the off chance you haven't found it yet, I'm going to link this super helpful vlog. All just a bunch of tips and tricks for Reaper. This in particular is great - basically helps you download a buttload of tasty JS plugins all at once. ---------------- As far as mastering is concerned, I typically start out with this FX chain and remove plugins as I see fit (I almost never use the EQ they include in this chain). I don't really care for the way they set up the multi-band compressor (the EQ feels wrong for a lot of songs), so I usually fiddle around with the settings until it sounds better. If you're just looking for "make this louder", all you really need is the limiter, though I would put on some light compression on the master track before you limit it. PS, let me know if you ever want me to check out your mixes or give some help with Reaper - I'm far from a professional, but I am a second set of ears!
Gadzooks, this is sick. You play flute? I have something I've needed flute on for a dog's age. Any time/interest in adding on?
Bummer. PM'd a link. If anything grabs you, feel free to add on. If not, totally fine. Looking forward to hearing more tunes! I'm late to the party, but yer stuff is great
