"Pretentious Friends" -Modeselektor ft. Busdriver This song BUMPS. I don't even know what it is about this song that I like so much, but I've listened to it at least twice a day for the past week. "Ann Wants to Dance" -Papooz This is a nice laid back indie song. "Hey Mami" -Sylvan Esso The minimal production coupled with Amelia Meath's vocals creates a mesmerizing soundscape. "Mary Jane Love" -NoName NoName is a spectacular lyricist and her beats have a nice classic hip hop influence. "Why You Never Became a Dancer" -Whitehouse Whitehouse is nuts. It's harsh and abrasive and like nothing you've ever heard.
I recorded this just now: I listened to Led Zeppelin this morning, while cleaning. Clearly, if you listen to the song I wrote, Zeppelin didn't influence it. My wife is out of town. I really should bust out the amps and distortion pedals.
Shit I like, weeeeeeb edition: Daisuke Tanabe - Before I Forget OGRE YOU ASSHOLE - OGRE YOU ASSHOLE Midori Takada - Through The Looking Glass This Japanese jazz fusion comp EDIT: Also, relevant: Breakbot - The Lazy Sunday Selecta
Stonebank -- Droppin' Low Meiko -- Leave The Lights On (Sadhu Remix) Jason Derulo -- Wiggle (NSTY Bootyleg Slow Mix) // the pop sound without most of the nonsense lyrics it's that kind of a week for me
Quf - Fohsh Yellowman - Zungguzungguguzunguzeng Randy Newman - Yellow Man Death Grips - Eh I look forward to the day that I actually recognize more than one or two bands in these threads.
Kyle Craft's "Dolls of Highland" is on Youtube thanks to Sub Pop Records and I've listened to it about five or six times in the past two weeks. I absolutely love it and I'm definitely picking it up the next time I'm at the record store. This single by Sylvan Esso has been playing constantly on one of the radio stations here in town and I turn up the volume every time it comes on. It's a fun song to listen to in the car. Dan Mangan. Not much to say. I love his sound. I love his lyrics. He's got a lot of talent.
