My buddy just moved back from the Netherlands two months ago after a six month stint. He thought it was much less racist than the U.S. or Great Britain. Who knows how much of the undercurrents of the society he couldn't pick up on?
There has been more reluctance against immigration which can be traced back to right-wing populists scaremongering and the left failing to combat this much like other countries. Unlike the US (and in lesser degree the UK) however, historically the Netherlands has had a strong political center. While that has all but disappeared in the political landscape I don't think the centrist mindset has disappeared in people's views.
