<ThatFanficGuy> Oy vey. I've been mastering the game called Cursed Treasure for the last week or so.
<ThatFanficGuy> It's a Flash tower defence game, and it rates one's performance based on the gems that the enemy didn't steal.
<ThatFanficGuy> The highest rating is for when the enemies haven't even reached the gems.
<ThatFanficGuy> I've been figuring the game out, which is a ridiculously useless process, to achieve the highest rating on all of the levels, which get increasingly more difficult.
<ThatFanficGuy> I've mastered all but two levels so far.
<ThatFanficGuy> And it's always one of those special enemies that gets me.
<ThatFanficGuy> The only one I can't deal at this point - I can shred everyone else, given upgrades, thanks to the boni from the talents that I've acquired - is the Ninja type.
<ThatFanficGuy> That bastard goes invisible after being hit and remains so for 5 seconds.
<ThatFanficGuy> That's sometimes enough to reach the gems, therefore nullifying my efforts.
<ThatFanficGuy> thereby*
<ThatFanficGuy> Now, the weaker ordinary Ninjas, I can deal with: one strike with a Meteor spell - and they're dead; and the spell's cheap enough that I can cast it every second wave (and Ninjas are rarer than that).
<ThatFanficGuy> But then, there are Champion Ninjas.
<ThatFanficGuy> These bastards do the same but move much faster and are more durable, taking up to five Meteors to kill (and I only ever have mana for five of them).
<ThatFanficGuy> And now that I've gotten to the last two levels, and seeing how they all grow in durability with higher difficulty...
<ThatFanficGuy> If I can figure out how to apply this vigour to other areas of my life that require attention and discipline to master, I'm quite certain I can grow a pair in a year.
