Read this piece! I would have tagged it #history, as I think it is an important read for understanding the context in which we live today. I'm a little bit indifferent to gun policy. Well, not really indifferent, but more conflicted. Obviously, most of the gun owners in this country are law abiding citizens who are responsible with their firearms. But are they not counterbalanced by the criminals, many of whom buy their guns legally? Or, at least it seems they do from recent investigative reports, but its actually illegal for the government to release tracking data to the public. The reason: gun sellers were getting sued for selling guns to criminals. Fascism at its finest when the state puts the rights of business to make money over the civil liberty rights of individuals. I would go to jail if I gave you a gun with a reasonable suspicion that you would commit a crime with it. But if I sell it to you? Well, that's just good business.
