- At about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, Republicans moved one step closer to repealing a law they have railed against since the moment it was passed nearly seven years ago.
By a final vote of 51-48, the Senate approved a budget resolution that sets the stage for broad swaths of the Affordable Care Act to be repealed through a process known as budget reconciliation. The resolution now goes to the House, where leaders are hoping to approve it by the end of the week.
rd95 I just saw this. I know that you're interested in getting involved in real world change. On Bernie Sanders' website, there's a call for people to make a stand on January 15, 2017 against the repeal of the ACA.
Unfortunately I'm both tied down today and personally too torn about ACA to take a concrete position on it one way or another. That said, I wish Bernie and company the best. It's good to see more and more people are taking the initiative to speak up and let their opinions be heard. It's just a shame things have had to have gotten so bad first.
