Genuinely curious here - not trolling - I could have sworn I read a comment where you were kinda pissed at him about several things and were generally unhappy with his presidency.

(Although with the imminent inauguration, it puts things in perspective.)

I worked hard to get him elected in 2008. I traveled out of state to knock on doors, hosted gatherings in my house, donated what money I had etc. Then, in 2012 I had a number of gripes that almost had me voting for Romney. I still think Mitt is a good candidate and would make a fine president. Much better than Trump. But, I voted for Obama in 2012 too. I don't regret it. There are lots of things I find upsetting about his presidency, but there's no way that anyone could be perfect. I think history will shine brightly upon his presidency.

In 2008 Dean believed the bullshit. I did as well. Then he waged war on wistle-blowers and rolled over for Hollywood when it came time to fight for the Internet.

There are a thousand papercuts that Obama can be legitimately blamed for. He lost the 2006 Congress that I fought like hell for, and for a while there I as a left type guy saw him as sort of floundering and off his direction. Say what you want about the DNC under Dean but they BUILT a party, or at least worked on it, in every state.

All the bad you can say about the guy? He LOOKED Presidential. Minimal scandals, nothing too embarrassing to the country. I'd have loved for him to go after Wall Street after the 2007 crash, sure. And he and Clinton cracked down HARD on Occupy that nobody seems to remember for some reason.

Obama will go down as better than average. Not Great, not bad, not average either. But man, the Dems have a shit ton of rebuilding to do before we lose the country for a generation.

Thanks. That must have been it. I didn't have a chance to watch tonight. Hoping to find time tomorrow.
