Working week in the Netherlands for people with a job is actually the lowest of all according to the study in the article. I'm not surprised: workers have a relatively strong contracts/unions, low female labor market participation (lots of women work part-time) and working extra hours is looked down upon. I do wonder how the distribution over income brackets would look like.
More real work, yes. I'm saying the US has more people doing more work, not that the US has useless jobs. We use all our labor, where the Europeans do not use it as much. Leads to happier people, but not in the long run. Trust me, I'm a big fan of making jobs disappear. However, we should always be replacing those jobs with new, real, jobs. And being an entertainer, making products for you and your family, or even just socializing for the sake of mulling ideas about is all a form of labor that can and will eventually be monetized as classical labor stops needing workers.
Not so sure about this one. Does mk owe me money?even just socializing for the sake of mulling ideas about
