I don't know anyone that updates the firmware on their routers. I don't know anyone with a Cisco router in their home. Does anyone on Hubski own a Cisco router?

I lied, I do know people who update the firmware on their routers, but they update to tomato which Cisco has no power over, so it's all good.

I figure a tiny percentage of people own a Cisco router or will buy one and have to get spied on, they are screwed. When I buy a router I do due diligence on the thing (mostly to see if I can install tomato firmware if I feel like bothering). Anyone who researches their router will find out that they don't want to buy a Cisco router because it's spyware unless they are offering some really killer apps. Seems like a bad move for Cisco.

if you own a Linksys router... you own a cisco router - they bought out linksys a few years ago, so now any firmware updates come from cisco.

Ouch, Linksys is everywhere.

You don't need to use cisco firmware for your Linksys router. Funny that the last thing the spyware router will see from tech savvy customers is a download of tomato firmware.

Sweet, sweet irony
