TL;DR the externalities of everyday low prices
I have purchased something from Walmart exactly twice. I think that's a pretty good feat considering its prevelance. Fuck that place. It's never less than depressing. I realize that I am fortunate to have the option to abstain.
A pair of tennis shoes and a Darth Vader doll. I was set to play tennis with my boss and forgot shoes. My daughter was really good all week long and I wanted to reward her. -She loves Star Wars. Target was out of all good star wars toys. Walmart had a giant Vader figurine. -Things like 3 feet tall. It cost less than $20. Amazing.
When no one else has it in town and shipping is going to take over a week I have shopped at Walmart. I've only been in once but my wife has picked things up for me twice. I can't say I hated it anymore than I hate any of the other big stores but I didn't linger long enough to get a feel for the place.
