Prompt #17: Write in rhyming couplets.
(I think 4 couplets will do. They can be stand alones or linked together. I'll post mine shortly.)
To figure out a couplet, I ran to Wikipedia, I blame my lack of experience on other kinds of media. My meter is wrong, my rhymes straight and not slanted, If my poetry teacher saw this all of his praise would be recanted. I think here it would be wise to leave a note, That he often pushed prose poetry down my throat. Though he often said if a man has half a wit, He can write a structured poem and stick with it.
An infinite cosmos in her eyes. A beautiful chaos crystallized. She exists outside of time's domain, but you will never hear me complain. The English language cannot explain how my love came like a hurricane. Since then, these emotions have evolved, Some were fleeting, and others resolved. Ok I have to confess not all of this was written on the spot. Like one couplet was written 6 months or so ago, but it was really cool to take that couplet and see if I approached the moment with a different mindset. My feelings and my focus have definitely changed as time has passed, but remembering the moment I still get that sense of happiness.
THE PERKS OF BEING A WITCH So easy now to scratch regular inconveniences. to mop, and scrub, and dust, overnight. It'd be a lie to say there are no benefits.
