Can anyone tell me if this would mean wich of the following theories would be proven true by this?

1. String theory

2. Holographic principle theory

3. Garrett Lisi E8 theory

I'm no physicist, but Sean Carroll indicated that the particle CERN found was "not very Standard Model like at all".

I think I have it: they are not 100% sure what the thing they found is. They're certain they've found something: it could be the Higgs or it could be something else.

I don't get it either. Perhaps the mass wasn't in the predicted range?
