I'm a mild fan boy, but I think the Toyota 2000GT is an absolute beauty. It was one of the cars to put Toyota in particular and Japan in general on the map as manufacturers of potent performance cars. My runner up? The Austin Healey Sprite. Just cause it's cute.
My dad has stories of a friend having a Triumph TR-4A. The stories have led me to liking the British two seaters, though I can't imagine owning one. While I may have self esteem issues, I don't hate myself that much.
Got lucky with my Mom's 1965 MGB GT. Yeah, it was Lucas Electrics (company motto: "Gentlemen do not motor about after dark"), but it worked right up until she sold it about 5 years ago. Now the new owner is having the same success we did. She got the Magic MGB.
I love talking to people at car meet ups about their cars. The one thing people who own British Roadsters always talk about is how unreliable the things are and how much work they take to keep running. It must be a point of pride for them. One guy says his MG is the best decision he's ever regretted.
Was talking to a guy. We had Triumphs in our past. I was bitching about the two-position switch for the headlights because it has 11 moving parts. Mutual friend asked what the two positions were for. He said "The first position turns on the headlights. The second position drains the battery."
Yeah, but was the battery in the wheel well?
