Really? I mean, I haven't met a religion that doesn't have some bizarre to it, but really? Hitchens makes a good point, but personally, I find this piece a but too snide. It isn't written in a way that would change minds. IMHO, if you agree with him, you'll nod, and if you don't, you'll get defensive as hell. Bachmann and Perry are using their religion in a cynical way. That can be demonstrated; and, if you do so in a friendly way, it might even be agreed upon.
There's the investments that look like scams, the Democratic past, the evangelical cult background, and then there's the serious possibility that he could win government with his charming face and tight grip on the bible. The 2012 elections will be interesting too. And again, not in the good way.
