Awesome! Kudos to Portugal!

Although I'm surprised that there was no mention of Sweden in such discussions for quite some time. They used to be all the rage along with Germany with their waste reuse for power generation and the pace they keep (kept?) to install PV cells everywhere.

Yeah, Sweden is pretty big on these matters, but has been quiet for some time. Let's just hope these achievements keep being talked about.

In my country, news like this are treated as if they were secondary. But this is of greater importance. It should be on the headlines but it wasn't the case. We barely heard about it. I'm still wondering why.

Absolute agreement on my part, this needs to be celebrated and talked about. Impact on the planet being one thing, knowing that we getting higher and higher on Kardashev Scale is just too awesome for my sci-fi brain ;).

That's why I have stopped tracking most newspapers or media outlets. Hubski + some still OK parts of Reddit are a great filter. Plus it's not like this is not the case in all other countries. Two years ago I have basically woke up after seeing less than an index card of news about one of the graphene manufacture breakthroughs done in my country (Poland)… and yet the front page was (iirc) something along the lines "Our volleyball/football team does not suck as much as we were thinking! Cheers!".
