There is going to be a flood of people to the middle of the country when the dot-bomb-2.0 goes off. It's going to be ugly.

I don't think so.

1) It's expensive to move.

2) There won't be any more jobs for coders in the midwest than there are now.

3) When the fires stoke again, they will again stoke in Silicon Valley.

I think to expand on 2, even if a lot of these people lose their jobs, they might want to stay put for a minute or two. I'd figure, once things turn around, companies might be more likely to start good jobs back up where the talent pool is. If people leave, they run the risk of losing out on those good jobs if and when they come back.

    It's going to be ugly.

I don't wish misfortune on the people it's going to be hard on, but I'd welcome Silicon Valley not being the center of the techy world.
