My boss has been talking about this for a while now. He's fairly new to the site, is a long time redditor, and doesn't know who he wants to follow. He wants a button where he can just see everything, sorta like he used to when he was lurking. I've told him to type in /lurk but he says that there needs to be a button. He's pretty smart with this kind of stuff.
Thoughts?

I agree. My boss says we will be much more friendly to new users with this feature

I think having a "lurk" button always present and available could be a good thing. You may recall there used to be an "active" button on the bottom tool bar that basically served that function. It's definitely a good way to discover people/info. Good suggestion boss!

I would also suggest to just follow a bunch of people. Remind him that the 'unfollow' button does exist. If someone isn't giving him what he wants after a week or so, just unfollow and follow another.

I told him that and I also followed a bunch of people for him. He just is thinking bigger...and he says that we shouldnt have to explain these things if hubski wants to be big. New users should just be able to lurk and join and be able to go back and follow. I never had a problem because I have been on twitter and reddit forever. I just know how to do shit and it doesnt bother me - like i think most of us on here do. But I think he has a point: new users who are lazy or busy and don't want to take the time exploring and discovering etc, they should be able to have an easy, self-explanatory way.
