Ah, I thought you just had it up open to critique. I don't know much of how this place works yet, I've spent the last 10 years on 4chan.
No worries, I'm not offended, but this place is definitely not 4chan. Many of us have collaborated on music together here and we've been a community for over 5 years. It's always nice to have newbies though, especially musicians :) Welcome! Let me know if you have any site specific questions. Cheers
Yeah mate actually I do. The traffic here is pretty slow in comparison. Why 5 years of being live and so slow the traffic?
There's a huge difference between a community created to grow, and by growth profit and a community that exist solely for the facilitation of thoughtful interaction. Not trying to be "big," just trying to be good. But there are thousands of us. The difference between thousands and millions is enormous though.
Strange though, you would still think there would be more. From what I can tell from the front page #music is the most lively page and there are only a few thousand posts in it's entire history. That seems oddly low considering.
Yeah, there's not a ton of quick content. It's a slow pace, for sure. That's kinda how we like it though. A conversation on a post can span days, weeks and even months. But if you think the music tag is lacking, by all means... Add to it. I look forward to your posts. I'll follow ya. Check out our purpose page to get an idea of our intentions: https://hubski.com/purpose Hubski is not for everyone, but check it out. Take your time with it.
It's not that bad. It teaches you patience. People are mean and all have their own opinions. I did enjoy the fact that anyone can say anything. Free speech and all that. Just a shame that most of the free speech is called spam.
I feel like this bodes well with an article I was reading today about how CBC might make people use real names when commenting which personally I think is great. A lot of other people seem to think it has an effect on free speech, which I find ridiculous because if people don't want to have their opinions associated with them... Why have them ? IIRC on 4chan you don't even have a profile to associate with comments. Here you're actually a person really. This site really is more of a community in the sense that you actually get to know the people here. It's not a huge cluster fuck like other larger sites which is one of the main things people enjoy about this site. It is at least one of the main things I enjoy. I'm guessing your comment just seemed out of place at first because everybody else knows tng. Like if somebody critiqued my paintings me and my friend would probably laugh, because I just paint to spend time doing something constructive so I can justify binge watching netflix. Just a bunch of amatuers enjoying life really, I'm sure you'll find a place here. :) Welcome.
