My longest and favorite video so far (mostly because the day was AWESOME and I'm happy I got it on film!)
First we attempt to go do the tourist stuff, almost get scammed twice so we gave up and went to do what we wanted which is exploring the abandoned airplanes.
Didn't do the #1 tourist thing in Bangkok after all (grand palace + emerald buddha) but it was 100% worth it :D
This is awesome. When you were at the second temple and it was so crowded, you did an awesome job with the hard cuts to make it feel frenzied and "crowded." Not sure if that was intentional or not, but it worked. What's that drink you are having at the beginning? It didn't look familiar. Also, I dig the music. "Airplane Selfie" -awesome moment. Also, Romanian boy band -funny stuff. These are definitely getting better and better. Great work!
Cool! it's by far my favorite video yet so far so i'm glad you guys liked it :D It was intentional with the hard cuts at the second place - I'm glad it came across as intended! At the begining, it's Thai red bull - the original thing. Tastes sweeter and has no gas but it's pretty awesome. I've been trying to include more humor and funny moments to make it more personable. Thanks again for all the compliments!
You're very funny and endearing. I think this could be a path for you. What do you use for editing the video/music? I would like to learn to do this.
Thank you! It's just a fun challenge for now, we'll see where that leads. Traveling is definitely something I enjoy a lot so figuring out a way to make this sustainable would be pretty cool. I edit using Final Cut Pro. I made the switch at the same time I started to vlog: I figured if I was going to do it seriously, might as well bring out the serious tools. I bet I use about 5% of the functionality. Honestly, iMovie was good enough for 99% of what I wanted to do and it's super easy and intuitive to learn. Try it out if you have a Mac, you'll see there isn't much to learn and whenever there's a road block, a little YouTubing goes a long way.
That's wonderful. Finally I have the time and the energy to watch one of your videos. Subscribed to the channel, looking forward to new videos. Where do you plan travelling to next? A few additional questions: What's your accent? How much of the original material goes into the final video?
We'll be staying in Chiang Mai for a month - with a quick visa trip to Laos next week. After that, Cambodge and Vietnam :) Not sure about the accent, my first languages are French and Russian so it's a mix of both I guess. As for the material, I would say I've been pretty good at filming what I need. I sometimes use very short clips to make the pace faster, but I do use most of the shots I do.
whoops wrong thread. I'll leave it here anyways.
I used to listen to this song All-The-Time!! It was my jam when I was 18.
