Never mind the rumors. A New Scientist investigation finds that the most-sensitive-ever search for gravitational waves may have caught a whiff of its quarry before it even started listening officially.
The linked article about the blind injection of data in 2010 was a fun read. Going through all the procedures for such a big find with the fact that it might just be test would have me on constant edge. Though if it keeps everyone discerning of the collected data and improves methodology then it can only be a good thing.
