Some great new albums out this week: DIIV's Is The Is Are Say Anything's rather abrasive I Don't Think It Is Wild Nothing's Life of Pause
I'm glad to see they're experimenting and growing, some of their albums after IARB tried too hard to replicate that feeling and sound. This just sounds so much more heartfelt and authentic. I think it may be their best since IARB.
Been a while since I've been around these parts. Hope all y'all have been well.
The Struts - Dirty Sexy Money Always happy to see a new Struts single, plus they're re-releasing their first album worldwide soon, which is nice. The Ballad of Nobodies - Red Wanting Blue Have been listening to RWB since they popped up on my Spotify playlist a few weeks back and have been really enjoying them since. Here's a few more of my favorites:
I recently worked a show that Skating Polly played. I think that if they keep making music as this group or other bands, 3-4 years from now a lot of people will be talking about them...considering they're something like 16 and 19 and making stuff like this. Also been listening to a ton of Fleetwood Mac. Hoping for Spring, I guess.
Squirrelhead - Undiscovery - haven't stopped playing this all week. Troum - Dhanu- H - couldn't really choose between this an Crescere or really the whole of Eald-Ge-Stréon. DJ Cheb I Sabbah - Kese Kese - First time I've listened to Shri Durga since just after I heard he passed away. EDIT: Forgot about this oldie I also rediscovered recently:
