But... That is why I hate taking photos. I have to force myself to do it when we travel, and I am always trying to balance a desire to have some visual record, with the desire to just forget about pictures and enjoy the moment. I'm going to die, and my memories will pass on. It might be nice for my ancestors to have a few images, but those moments will really only exist for me and the people I shared them with. Maybe I want a little photo robot that can follow me about an take a few pictures now and then.Every photo you take is an editorial decision about a given moment of reality.

I agree about how much easier it is to connect with people when traveling. I have some of my fondest memories from trips I took when I was younger. I find it's easier to have these chance encounters when I travel solo though. Have you found any truth in that?
