Today I listened to three albums in completion: Elvis Costello's My Aim is True Cat Steven's Greatest Hits and Vetiver's Errant Charm
Rama (2015) Self titled Desert metal with some psychedelic influence from Italy. Really impressive for a first outing. The Machine (2015) Offblast! Jam-style hard rock/metal from the Netherlands. Classic structure with contemporary aesthetics. Every time I put this record on to listen while I work, I find myself utterly distracted from the work and focused on the music.
Was reminded about Ain't No Rest for the Wicked when watching a stream of Space Funeral: Legend of Earthbirth earlier this week. If you like really bizarre games, you should really check these out. Great music in those as well and really weird games that a a great time to watch. I also have been watching the old Muppets Show at night when doing art and these two songs stuck out to me, probably because I already really liked both songs.
I finally, finally saw Car Seat Headrest last night. They opened with the linked song, and I nearly cried during a part of it. There were a tear or two, for sure. Such an important band to me. The other bands, Naked Giants and Boyfriends were killer too. Turns out the singer of Boyfriends is a third degree connection. But, despite all that, Seattle concert goers are an immensely frustrating experience.
For some reason YouTube doesn't have any working links to the song I discovered last night.. Mo Lowda and the Humble - Lunar Guidance. Really didn't expect that sound from them while hooning through my Spotify Discover Weekly - give it a whirl if you are curious, they have somewhat of a Kings of Leon vibe which I'll admit I was never a big fan of.. But this. I am a fan of this. I tried to link to Spotify but the Hubski app I'm trying to use won't let me paste it. Apologies! But also this. Am I going through an angry phase?
