Yes, this is very much a kin to the type of Christianity I find most appealing as well. My favorite Christians believe that their faith is a relationship between themselves and God and they do not feel the need to wear it on their sleeve. My favorite quote from Christianity comes from St. Francis, I've mentioned it on Hubski often, at all times preach the gospel and when necessary, use words." -There are similarities between this and "Irha." Christ himself asks that people pray in solitude and not out in the open so everyone can "see." What a difference that would make.
Half of the Sermon on the Mount is basically Christ saying: "Mind your own business, and leave the judging to God." But the antidote to ISIS is a matter of economic stability and good governance. I am not convinced that this is a cultural movement or a matter of religious perspective. IMO it has much more to do with a lack of opportunity. People get ugly when they have no hope.
Yeah. ISIS is a globalized version of the inner city gang/drug wars that peaked in the late 1980's and 90's. Folks with severely limited resources are abandoned with no hope in a careless system. Their chosen religion is the glue that binds their anger in to a cohesive mass that provides their power. Sort of a modern day Mongol Horde that is able to coalesce by via social media rather than horseback.
