- TO THE FOUNDERS OF WORLD VASECTOMY DAY, the benefits speak for themselves. The procedure is simple enough to do in a doctor's office or even a living room. It takes the burden of family planning off of the female. It’s inexpensive, has a short recovery period, and, so far as operations on genitals go, minimally invasive.
Getting a vasectomy was the single best decision I've made in the last 10 years. If you want no more kids or are at a certain point in your life where you KNOW you don't want any - I highly recommend it. Quick, easy, and SOOO much better/safer than ANY of the permanent female options. when you're ready... do it.
I understand the popular thing to do is have the surgery Wednesday afternoon before the NCAA basketball tournament starts. Then you take Thursday and Friday off and sit and watch basketball all day with a bag of frozen peas on your crotch. Seems like a win-win. I'm in favor of family planning.
There is literally some sort of primal inclination that will not allow me to entertain the thought of a vasectomy. -I know I'm archaic, but it's true.
