I ordered some last week. It looks as though it will be arriving sometime today. I'm pretty excited for it. Have any of you guys tried it? What did you think of it? Did it upset your stomach or anything like that?
Update: it arrived today, but I was at work when it did. It's now stuck in my building manager's office which is closed for the weekend. :'(
Despite being the holidays, it only took four days to arrive.
Shipping has been quick. I think they can better handle demand now. I didn't fuss about the hubbub. It seems it could have been motivated by money. Not worried, anyway. I'll have to check. I recall is was just under $4 per meal in the quantity I buy, which is seven bags. However, I think my meals are smaller than the standard portion, and I am probably paying closer to $3 per meal.
I know mk did. He has quite a few posts about it. They were really interesting.
The real question is, has anyone here tried Soylent Brulee yet?
Been trying so hard to get into 1.5 (Okay, maybe not that hard) I liked the taste of it initially, but it quickly got to be something which I dreaded eating and mixing, about half done with the 7 bags I got back in mid-October, probably drinking it about once every week. I haven't been chilling it which I think helps a lot, but then I lose a lot of the convenience which I got it for in the first place.
Did you just get sick of the flavour? Have you tried adding other foods to it? I had a friend recommend cocoa powder.
That's definitely a part of it. It's not so much that it tastes bad, it's just so bland. I've mixed it with my cinnamon protein powder and that actually made it pretty good. I'd still eat it a lot more if I had 2.0 I'm thinking, even if it tasted the same. Having to refrigerate it after mixing really kills the reason I got it, convenience.
Started a couple months ago, use it for over half my meals. Ordered 12 of the 2.0 bottles and they were decent, have been using the 1.5 powder since. At first 1.5 was much harder to get used to than I thought it would be (the taste and texture were okay, just felt it was missing something to convince me to drink it at first). Other than that, it's easy to fit it into a routine, and you don't have to think about recipes or getting groceries. And makes you appreciate actual food more when you do have it.
I haven't tried it. The biggest argument against it, for me, is that it feels unnatural. I understand that it's nutritional and stuff - even earth and rocks are - but it doesn't feel like real food. Despite my aversion to cooking - it robs me of energy - I'd rather cook some good meat than spend time on the fast food.
On a somewhat related note when I cut weight for powerlifting meets I usually go on an all liquid diet. I love the convenience of making it and how easy it is to get a lot of macro nutrients into a few cups of smoothie. I'm assuming Soylent is more filling and has a better micro nutrient profile than what I make. Should definitely update us when you do get it and try it out!
For sure! I definitely will! Unfortunately, I think the first time I can try it may be Monday.
