Hey guys!
The topic this week is: Japanese films.
So recommend anything from the great land of Japan!

can... can we do 7 samurai? I really, really want to see it after watching this:
I agree, Yojimbo and Seven Samurai are my favorites. I am also a fan of Red Beard, which was much different, but still moving. I vote for any Kurosawa.
Yes! Either Big Man Japan or Seven Samurai!
Never been watched before on the club so it's eligible!
Really interesting recommendations so far! I'm going to nominate Ikiru. It's one of the few Kurosawa's I've never seen and I've heard lots of praise for it. IMDB summary is: "A bureaucrat tries to find a meaning in his life after he discovers he has terminal cancer."
Alternatively The Hidden Fortress basically inspired Star Wars and Kurosawa is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. Or I could also nominate Miyazaki and one of his films or anyone else ugh Japan why.
I might need to embrace my dictatorial powers and change the winner now
Well. This round may fix that for you. I've seen a few but there are big ones I haven't watched yet.
Adrift in Tokyo is one of the best movies I've ever seen, and one that I don't know of anyone else who has watched it. Equal parts coming of age, dealing with age, dealing with regret, and dealing with the changes of life. I don't know how else to describe. Just a beautiful film.
The Tale of Zatoichi or any of the Zatoichi movies! haha
I've never watched this, but somehow I'm always tempted by the Criterion Zatoichi boxset.
