Many argue that the Beatles are the greatest band of all time. I don't necessarily agree, but since the Beatles' discography is largely unavailable on most music streaming media, I haven't been able to tap into the good stuff apart from the hits. I've heard most of John Lennon's solo discog already.
Hook it up, Hubski!
It's a crying shame that their music isn't available on any streaming services. I hope whoever is pulling that string knows that a whole generation of people are going to grow up not knowing this brilliant music. I guess the records are still making money, or why else wouldn't they be on there, but come the fuck on. It is more important that people get to hear this stuff than not. That said, I could go on all day about The Beatles, but I'll just leave you with a few tracks since you've apparently got some digital music from flag. My favorite collection of Beatles songs (although not my favorite album) is the White Album. Check out "Helter Skelter", and "Happiness is a Warm Gun'," although really just listen to the whole thing. My favorite album is Revolver, and my favorite section of revolver is For No One --> Dr. Robert. They're not a segue or anything, but for me, they just kind of fit together, and I can't listen to one without the other. Highly recommend just listening to Revolver all the way through, however. That album, as well as Abbey Road (especially Abbey Road), can really only be understood as a complete album, and the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts.
How about Twist & Shout? One of their earlier recordings, but it shows how the Beatles could really let it rip! They weren't just studio mavens.
They are. Do you want their discography? Do you have a dropbox? 1. In My Life 2. All My Loving 3. For No One 4. Help 5. You've Got To Hide Your Love Away 6. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 7. It's Only Love 8. Norwegian Wood 9. Eleanor Rigby 10. Revolution
A Day in the Life is a monumental track from The Beatles. Does All My Loving count as a hit? It's one of the best and most infectious pop songs I've ever heard. When the bass line starts to walk...man. Was really into Sgt Pepper and Revolver and that era for a while but as I've been getting older I find myself moving more and more towards the earliest Beatles albums.
I was disappointed with the site until I saw you posted A Day in the Life. Someone had to!
Yo, I love A Day in the Life, and never knew what it was called till now. Sweet!! All My Loving is def a hit, either way it's a great track. I agree that early Beatles was better, but I think it gets good again towards the end.
Supa hot fire, especially Across the Universe. Thanks!
I was a huge fan when I was younger, and I loved Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road the most; but as I've aged, I think my favourite tracks now come from the "breakup" album, "Let it Be" :
That link's unavailable in the U.S. but I found another: Listening now, it's awesome. Thanks!
How didn't I see this last week! Here's what I could find though there's plenty more I also love this, though it's a mashup of two songs: This is mostly from the latter part of their career, and there really is tons more out there. Love the Beatles.
Nope. I don't even know what that is Edit: RSM!! I totally remember that conversation, actually. I recall digging his music. Thanks for the reminder.
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x158z5_beatles-when-i-m-sixty-four_music When I'm 64 is a song that is about growing old gracefully, asking for the one you love to remain as vulnerable as you are willing to be and also to have a little bit of humor about getting older.
