I have always felt that the problem is that the people that get the attention both seem to have the same position: "This is my land and you can not be here". There is no room for compromise there. Ugh. One state solution with everyone chilling out please.
Yeah, that is much easier said than done. I'm not sure how old you are, but let's assume that you own a home. Let's also assume that you own the home that your parents once owned. It's a generational place. Let's assume that some politicians gather and decide that your home, because it's on the wrong side of an arbitrary line they drew, needs to be given back to the people that you know have declared you to be less than human and want you dead and out of their "homeland." "Everyone chilling out," is a pretty far-fetched concept. I don't disagree that it's a nobel end, but not too likely unfortunately. --- Also, for what it's worth, I truly believe that you can put a palestinian or an israeli in the place of the "home owner" in my scenario and it's the same thing. I have no dog in this fight. I'm not a palestinian and I'm not an israeli and I have friends that are Jews and I have friends that are Palestinians. They're all awesome people. They're people. I'm convinced that my grandkids will see "ism's" like they are ancient bullshit. The idea that we identify as "X", when "X" isn't simply "human" is odd to me. I'm pretty tired of religion and nationalism.
I agree. I think a two state solution would be better but I don't see any end to it perhaps this decade or century? The history of the area is incredibly complicated. I have been observing the struggle for a few decades and nothing has improved IMO.
