Well it is that time of year again. I am in need of ideas for gifts for the young ones. I do not want to get them toys. They have more than enough toys already and I am certain that they will get a ton more. I would like to get books for them. Preferably books that will encourage them to learn more about the world around them and how things work. I was thinking of getting Thing Explainer for the 8 year old. Does hubski have suggestions? These boys are between 6 and 8, but they are somewhat mature for their age.
Give them a coupon to miss a day of school and go on an adventure of some sort. The zoo, aquarium, skiing, etc. It was always fun getting to miss a day of school, and the memories will last much longer than than a toy.
That is a great idea!! Not sure if I can get them out of school for a day, but tickets to a museum, zoo, or a play sounds fantastic!!
I used to love this book when I was a kid http://www.amazon.com/Stephen-Biestys-Incredible-Cross-Sections-Richard/dp/0679814116/
