Morphine
A golden fog of light and heat,
So bright my eyes feel her,
Winter sunshine cascading across my skin,
Painting a frosted world with dream and melt.
She's in my blood so deeply now that I glow faintly in the dark,Racing through my veins to tour the nerves which keep my hands,
Clenched and unreleased until she quiets grip and hold.
To fall slackened and elastic at my side.
She floods from my chest to my lips,The pouring vessel which boils sits slow and still,
Steaming and steeping more creative worthwhile vapors,
Bringing me closer to who I can be in a different world.
As I lean into her,Static and physical forces pull us together,
Where atoms bond and fusion shines.
This light not to reveal, but force closed your eyes.
My hand on her back, long, tight, and lean,The catalyst for these chemical creations,
I pour this chest-full feeling from my lips,
Into this long, lean morphine dream,
And rest untroubled.
