Well, I shouldn't comment without reading, but a) grantland didn't fail, it succeeded, and b) Bill Simmons now has the name recognition and readership to do anything he wants out from under ESPN's yoke.

And c) hell, the archive is still there.

Do me a favor and read it. It's not one of the numerous super-deep articles regarding Grantland. It's quick and scathing and I think you will enjoy it, or at least smile once.

Of course.

EDIT: heh. It's true about ESPN, though. They're losing the coverage battle too. Soccer is the next big thing and they don't have the rights to any of it.

What they should do is buy into esports while it's cheap. Hope they don't.

Can confirm for this alone.

“LOL fuck outta here our next 30-for-30 is Stephen A. Smith and Floyd Mayweather sucker-punching female WWII veterans. While you’re waiting, check out our NFL Emoji of the Week brought to you by a quasi-legal unregulated internet gambling company on the verge of being shut down by the FBI.”
