Honestly? Lessig wasn't going anywhere anyway. His original idea of a "referendum presidency" was shaky at best, and it was never clear to me why he thought it was a good idea to pretty much siphon money from Sanders' (who has a hell of a better shot at this) campaign when they remain the same on the issue at hand.

Lessig took some time to expand on his platform recently, and he does differ from Sanders in some areas, including copyright reform and voting methodology. Largely though, Lessig thought that reforming how our democracy works should be the focus of the election, while other candidates have been focusing on specific issues and policies they would address should they be elected.

Of course, Lessig never stood a chance, I think he now actually stands a better chance of promoting his Citizen Equality Act and some of his other issues. I'd love to see him come back to a technology related focus, even if it was Swartz who convinced him to shift focus. Still, this is just a jerk move by the DNC. It doesn't affect any of the other candidates, and was otherwise completely unnecessary.
